Estudo da Netcraft aos servidores Web
Em Agosto de 1996 a Netcraft consultou com sucesso 342.081 sites Web para conhecer a distribuição dos servidores http mais utilizados. No estudo realizado em 1995 a Netcraft tinha recebido respostas de 18.957 hosts em que se destacava o servidor NCSA com 57% das respostas seguido do CERN com 20%.
Este crescimento de sites Web está relacionado com a duplicação dos domínios registados entre Julho de 1995 e Janeiro de 1996 conforme foi divulgado pela Network Wizards.
